How not to defend yourself...

Congressman William Jefferson is in a huge bind. He got videotaped taking $100,000 in cash. He then hid the bulk of it in a freezer (talk about a guy who literally prefers cold hard cash...), and the guy who gave him the bribes has already copped a plea.

His defense... well, read for yourself.

All I will say is that a good press conference makes someone look innocent. Jefferson did not have a good one. Why he even called it is beyond me. He's all but admitted he is guilty by hiding behind "separation of powers". I just hope he decides to make a real show out of it.

Frist and Hastert are not doing themselves any favors by complaining about the search.

It's the sort of move that makes people wonder what the complainants have to hide.
